Molecular Diagnostics, Product and Laboratory Strategy Leader with more than fifteen years of international experience in in vitro diagnostics across Canada and Latin America. Bacteriologist with a postgraduate specialization in hematology in the clinical laboratory and blood bank management and a Master’s degree in microbiology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with a scientific foundation in molecular biology.
Long biography
Molecular Diagnostics, Product and Laboratory Strategy Leader. The work spans peer-reviewed molecular biology research, in vitro diagnostics product leadership, and clinical laboratory transformation across Latin America and Canada.
The scientific record includes peer-reviewed publications on rotavirus, adenovirus and viral diversity in pediatric acute diarrhea (MEDICAS UIS, 2000; Revista Latinoamericana de Microbiología, 2006), and an author-attributed Rotavirus C VP7 sequence in NCBI GenBank (CAD70160.1) deposited via a collaboration with the Viral Gastroenteritis Section of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Diagnostics leadership includes consultative laboratory strategy work supporting complex clinical laboratory operations and national diagnostic networks in Canada (2023–2026); regional marketing leadership for immunology and molecular portfolios across multiple Latin American markets (2020–2023), including integration of an acquired molecular technology platform; and more than a decade in Colombia and the wider LATAM region, spanning centralized laboratory solutions product management (including regional launches of centralized immunoassay and coagulation platforms), scientific and commercial training of hundreds of regional stakeholders, and field application support for molecular and sequencing platforms.
